Gulf of Alaska Coast Keepers

In 2002, a handful of Alaskan volunteers began protecting the waters and habitat of the Northern Gulf of Alaska by cleaning up marine debris in Prince William Sound. In 2006 these efforts morphed into the non-profit Gulf of Alaska Keeper (GoAK), which has removed over 3 million pounds of toxic plastic debris from over 1,500 miles of critical and sensitive coastal habitat. As the continent's largest ongoing marine debris clean-up organization, GoAK has developed clean-up techniques that make it the most efficient remote coastal marine debris cleanup organization in the world.
