Description

Oceana Canada was established to protect and restore the extensive Canadian oceans and their marine life. The charity works with civil society, academics, fishers, and government with the aim to return Canada’s formerly vibrant oceans to health. Advocates for policies to improve fish stocks, amongst their many campaigns, they have successfully campaigned to end the shark fin trade, make rebuilding depleted fish populations the law, improve the way fisheries are managed and protect marine habitat. Plastic pollution, seafood fraud, the North Atlantic whales, are amongst their current campaigns.
